- How many modules are there in POSSWeb? In other words, what are the different functions it is capable of performing/presenting?

Q: How many modules are there in POSSWeb? In other words, what are the different functions it is capable of performing/presenting?
A: There are 29 modules. Go to www.possweb.net and enter the word “demo” for the username and password. Click on the menu bars at the top to see all of the screens.
Q: Are management or administrative functions available through POSSWeb?
A: Administration is limited to approving time off, overtime, and assigning districts.
Q: Can users self register themselves within the application or are the logon IDs and passwords provided to the end users by an administrator?
A: IDs and passwords are created in POSS LAN and used in POSSWeb. They must be maintained in POSS LAN.
Q: Can the users change their own passwords via POSSWeb?
A: Users can change their password in POSSWeb, but passwords must be created in POSS LAN.
Q: Does POSSWeb allow for the upload or download of information (such as notes, files, etc) or is it strictly forms based?
A: POSSWeb does not allow the upload/download of notes, files, etc.
Q: Verify that the authentication mechanism is strictly username/password.
A: Yes, strictly username/password.
Q: Which data in the database are considered sensitive or confidential, e.g., salary or SSN?
A: Confidential data cannot be viewed over POSSWeb. There is security within the system that allows you to specify what can be viewed by which personnel. For example, you can set it up so that a payroll employee is the only one who can see salary information.
Q: What platform was used to develop the application?
A: VB6, VB.NET, ASP.NET
Q: Is POSSWeb the only portion of the application suite that will be exposed to an outside network?
A: Yes, unless you connect POSS through an internal VPN, terminal services, etc.
